16 Required Services for Homeless Students

Homeless children and youth have the right to a free, appropriate public education—just like any other student. Under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act, schools are required to provide critical supports that remove barriers to enrollment, attendance, and success.

The following 16 services are authorized under Section 723(d) of the Act and can be provided through your local school district or Regional Office of Education (ROE):
